Informational Meeting March 9 at 3 PM

A stay-at-home mom. A grandmother. A breast cancer survivor. A former college athlete. A woman who never before participated in sports. What do all of these women have in common?

They are triathletes. And you can be too!

TRIgirl Training can help make it happen in 2008!

Strengthen your body and empower your life with TRIgirl, an all-female organization devoted to helping women train for triathlons and make an impact on the world around them.

TRIgirl is let by USATriathlon certified coaches who help members follow a fitness program in preparation for a variety of triathlons and running races. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned veteran or totally new to the scene, because the heart of TRIgirl lies in the support of a team working together towards a common fitness goal and philanthropic cause. We welcome women of all ages and abilities to join the team. Where else can you find the complete package of fitness training, triathlon coaching, social events and philanthropic opportunities- all within a friendly and encouraging environment?

TRIgirl Training’s informational meeting is Sunday, March 9 at 3PM at Maramarc Fitness located at 4914 Fitzhugh Avenue 23230. For directions, visit the Maramarc website at http://maramarcfitness.com/contact/default.asp

Please join us to discuss all things TRIgirl, answer any questions you may have about the programs and get ready to start training. This is a great opportunity to come and see what TRIgirl is all about!

We would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have about our exciting programs. Please feel free to bring a friend!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information prior to our meeting. grandison@trigirltraining.com or by phone at 303-7734 or 852-0269 or check out our website at http://www.trigirltraining.com/

Sweet Sixteen

Inspired by the Krispy Kreme Challenge , Aimee G and lots of donut eating boasting from select TRIgirls, Maramarc Fitness hosted the Saturday Cyclist Donut Challenge. While some stopped at two or three, Liz and Patty took "post-workout" refueling to a whole new level-conceeding at SIXTEEN donuts. Each. 16 each.

Congratulations, Girls. That is quite impressive.

Monument 10K Spirit Award

Did you know that if your friends and family come to cheer on the TRIgirls and other runners, at the Monument Avenue 10K, that we could earn a donation for Safe Harbor Shelter? Up to $200! We will be competing in the Spirit Contest. We're still working on the details of the location, and will post the info as soon as we have them. In the mean time, mark your calendars (and your family's calendars) for the morning of April 5th. If your not running it, come help us cheer!

Round Two -- Team Evotri Contest

Thank you for all of your support and your votes! With your help, I am excited to say that I made it to Round Two of the Team Evotri contest!

The Richmond area support has been amazing -- especially for someone like me who's a bit shy. It is a little overwhelming even!

*****To vote in the second round, you have to send an email to vote@evotri.com and in addition to "Jonah Holland" in the subject line, you also must write "Round Two" for the vote to be counted. ********

The entire Richmond community (TRIgirls, Richmond TRI Club members, teachers, bloggers, friends and friends of friends) have been so great in supporting me. I am very grateful.

If you have time please go to the Evotri website and watch all 7 videos and vote for the one that you think best answers these questions (hopefully it's mine):
1. How will you benefit the team if you're chosen? What are your personalattributes?
2. How have you, and how do you plan to give back to the endurancesport community? Nothing is too insignificant, list it all.
3. Why tri? Please be as creative as possible in explaining why you are passionate about triathlon and endurance sport?

Standing Ovation

I'm told that TRIgirl40 will be wearing a pink fur-lined skirt for her acceptance speech. Congratulations on your blog's award! We're proud of you!
